Just back off holidays and being completely rested I thought I had better update the website and our Facebook page. So here’s what’s happening . . .
-
We have our next committee meeting, the first after this year’s AGM, on 13th of August. We will be looking at options for giving our group a more definitive legal structure in order to give us greater flexibility for the future. This could be in the form of, for example, a Community Interest Company or maybe a Charitable Trust or we may decide that we are fine as we are with our current constitution.
-
On the 18th August, Ted and I are meeting Will Wooten of Mott MacDonald at their Cardiff office. Mott MacDonald has been the only company to give us a quote for the GRIP 1 / 2 feasibility study, so hopefully we can firm up on the details with him on that.
-
On the 11th and 23rd of September we are pleased to be participating in the Community Council’s consultation events – more about those in due course.

You may recall that the children of Magor Church in Wales primary school wrote to various people in ‘high places’ to ask them to help get a new railway station for Magor and Undy. I have heard that the Welsh Government’s Minister for Economy, Science and Transport, Edwina Hart, being one of the people that received a letter from the children, is planning to visit them at the school in September. I will confirm that when I have more details. Well done children! I am sure the minister will be keen to listen to what you have to say.

Also in September (22nd), as mentioned previously, we are holding a promotional event at the Wales 1 Business Park, supported by Monmouthshire County Council. Plenty to do over the next few weeks to make that a success!
So, much to be getting on with! Watch this space (and the Facebook page) for further updates.
