End of summer update . . .

Just 2 matters to report on this month –

  • Firstly, and most importantly, members of the group have busy preparing for our September progress update event. The event, which is to be held at the Magor Baptist Chapel on the 20th September (full details by clicking on the image on the right), celebrates 5 years of real and sustained progress.  As well as being able to view the plans and diagrams produced for the GRIP reports, you will be able to hear a number of guest speakers who have given their relentless support over the years.  These include; John Griffiths AM, Sophie Howe (Future Generations Commissioner), Kellie Beirne (Director of Cardiff Capital City Region Deal) plus the Chair and Chief Exec. of Monmouthshire District Council (MCC).  This your opportunity to find out what the ‘Walkway’ station is all about and what it could mean for you.

  • Secondly, with 2 major products of the GRIP 3 study being completed in July (the ‘Strategic Outline Business Case’ and the ‘Option Selection Report), Ted and I, along with Christian Schmidt of MCC, met the consultants, Mott MacDonald, to see what needs to be done next to complete GRIP 3 but more on that next month.

Please do try and attend the event on the 20th September, you will be most welcome but in the meantime, enjoy what’s left of our summer!
