October ’15 – Update and progress review

  • October’s meeting at the Golden Lion (15/10/15) welcomed 2 guests; Mr Andrew David (South East Wales Energy Agency) and Mr Sam Knight (local resident and keen supporter of MAGOR).  The meeting initially focused on MAGOR’s prime aim of opening a station to serve the joint communities of Magor and Undy but we also discussed the associated aim, if technically possible, to see the station as part of a multi-use community area centred on the ‘3 Field Site’.  Everyone agreed that MAGOR should work with all interested parties and the community council to see the site lease returned to the community to provide the foundation for such a development.

  • Following a review of our 2015/16 plan, carried out at the latest meeting, it was necessary to re-plan some milestones.  Although this could be seen as ‘slippage’, all agreed that, especially with the success of the promotional event, progress is definitely being made! You can see an update of the plan by clicking here.

  • MAGOR is working with and is supported by the Severnside Programme Board. The board is currently preparing a new ‘community led’ plan and is inviting people of Caldicot, Rogiet, Undy, Magor, Caerwent, Portskewett and Sudbrook to input to the plan.  You can give your views by participating in a short (5 minute) survey by clicking on this link – http://bit.ly/my7sideplan.  Of course a station for Magor with Undy ought to be one of the priorities.

  • We will be having our usual stall at the Frost Fayre again this year (12th December) so we look forward to seeing you again for a chat.
