Children name our mascots!

Getting our schools to support our station campaign was so easy! The children of both of our local primary schools, Undy and Magor CiW, are very environmentally aware, as we found out when some of committee members visited the schools recently.  As part of the engagement we invited the schools to ask the children to suggest names for the 2 characters in our popular fridge magnet.

We are now pleased to announce the results –

The engine is named “MAGGY” as proposed by Megan Peacock of Undy School and the driver is called “GEORGE” at the suggestion of George Williams from Magor School. Apparently George thought that it would be a tribute to young Prince George of Cambridge.MaggyandGeorge

It’s great that the school children are supporting the campaign and we thank them and the schools’ staff for their help and encouragement.
