This was our first meeting in the recently
refurbished Golden Lion function room (by kind permission of Peter and Suzie Mills). This made discussing our ideas easier (e.g. able to use a PC projector) and the ’round table’ seemed to promote greater teamwork.
The main topic of the evening was the detailed planning for our stall at the Frost Fayre. We agreed on some professionally produced art work for a new logo and our publicity material. We also agreed that we would hold a ‘Free Draw’ (prizes donated by our local sponsoring businesses) – First prize – a room for 2 at the Hampton by Hilton Hotel (Magor). We are looking forward to the event on the 14th December as this will be another great opportunity to further get our message over to the people of Magor and Undy and hopefully raise a bit more cash for the cause.
Other items discussed during the evening were –
- arranging visits to the local schools to get the children involved with the campaign
- a forthcoming article in the South Wales Argus
- progress with gaining support from the big businesses in the area, e.g. AB INBEV and Wilko
- other funding opportunities
