News is bit short in the ‘silly season’ but . . .

. . . there are a couple of items to report and one ‘forward look’-

  • Delyth Jewell AM, who Ted and I met last month, has just updated us. She said that she has had a meeting with Transport for Wales about Magor and Undy Walkway and that they seemed very supportive – particularly as it would be a ‘Walkway’ and would coincide with Welsh Government’s plans for active travel. She added that she is now waiting for a meeting with Ken Skates the Economy and Transport minister and would let us know when this has been arranged. Many thanks Delyth!
  • Last week, Ted and I (along with Mike Burke of the MUCH Group) met with officers of Monmouthshire County Council and county councillor Lisa Dymock.  We discussed the probabilities of the station and the community hub being built, their impact on traffic and parking in Magor and Undy and the need to plan accordingly.  The outcome of the meeting was that it was agreed they would both be included in the scope of B4245 study work being undertaken by Capita on behalf of MCC.
  • Finally, the mission for the month of September is to find out exactly what is happening with regard with the “Magor will be included in the mainline corridor work”, as stated by the minister and reported in our July Highlights.

All for now. Enjoy what is left of summer!
