Frost Fayre Raffle – amazing result . . .

This year’s Frost Fayre, as is so often the case, was more of a Wind & Rain Fayre.  Nevertheless, as usual, residents turned out in force and, as usual, our raffle stall was very popular.

We made over £155, after costs, which was a terrific result and will help keep the campaign moving forward.  Thanks everyone (including members of the MAGOR group) for your unrelenting support.

This year we changed the raffle by having more smaller prizes but also added the opportunity of winning a ‘star prize’ by entering all winning tickets back into a free draw. This seemed very popular!

The winning ticket drawn was purchased by Zarah, so she received the Thomas the Tank Engine electric train-set, immediately after the Fayre.  Congratulations Zarah!

One final thing, although the May and Frost Fayres are very popular, the Magor Events Group are, with a reducing membership, finding it increasingly difficult to organise, set up and dismantle.  If you would like to join the group or even just to help on the days please contact the group via their Facebook page or by email to this address – secretary@magorchurchmen.co.uk.  Without additional help these wonderful traditions are likely to fold in the very near future and that would be a sad loss to the spirit of our unique community.
