Last meeting of the year – quick summary . . .

In brief we agreed the following at our December Meeting –

  • That the year as a whole had been very successful

  • Had gained financial support from Monmouthshire County Council in them agreeing to underwrite the cost of the GRIP study

  • We still had a number of possibilities of further financing in the pipe-line

  • That we should be in position to finalise the scope of the GRIP study in January (with the help of Network Rail, Mon CC and Mott MacDonald) and let the contract soon after

  • We should continue to explore, with the Community Council and others, the possibility of bringing the lease of the ‘3 Field Site’ back to the community under the management of a community association

  • Our participation in the Frost Fayre had been very successful – again lots of expressions of support and we also raised about £74.

  • That the Golden Lion had been very good to provide us with the use of the Function Room throughout the year and that our partaking of the “Festive Nibbles” was a nice way to celebrate the end of a very good year (Thank you Golden Lion staff and Andrew David).
