Feedback from the Senedd . . .

In September I stated that our 500-Signature petition to Welsh Government, asking for ‘Magor’ to be considered as a potential ‘quick win’ for the Burns Delivery Programme, was due for consideration.  The petition has since been reviewed and we have received the following feedback –

“The Committee considered the petition and agreed to write to the Deputy Minister to ask about the specific timescales for the development of Magor station, and whether it could be expedited sooner as a ‘quick win’ as part of the plan by the Delivery Unit; and the train companies, First Great Western and Transport for Wales, asking when they will be ready to run trains to and from Magor, and what specific barriers, if any, exist on site to prevent them doing it sooner”.

So that was good news and our thanks to all who signed the petition!

Since the feedback, Rich Middleton, Great western Railway’s Growth Manager has been in touch with us, and we now have a meeting planned with him for mid-January.  Also, we have been invited to Transport for Wales’s Transport Liaison group meeting in December.  So clearly the petition has really helped.

More news at the end of January.

In the meantime, have a great festive season!
