A final update before Christmas . . .

I’m pleased to say that the Transport for Wales ‘Have Your Say’ consultation on the proposed Magor & Undy Walkway station, which took place on the 9th November at The Hub, was really well attended and, as they said, “the most positive”.  Thank you for that.  There is still time to ‘have your say’ – click here to see how to do that.  MAGOR has produced its view on the proposal which you can view by clicking here.

On 25th November, group Members, Phil Inskip and Ted Hand, were invited to the inaugural meeting of the Caerleon Campaign Group working to re-open Caerleon’s station. The success of MAGOR was viewed as the template for designing their campaign.

Finally, on 28th November, Phil and I participated in GWR’s stakeholder’s webinar, chaired by Mark Hopwood GWR’s CEO.  Phil posed a number of questions, mostly around service short-comings but Phil also asked if  there were proposals that the London morning ‘up’ and evening ‘down’ could also stop at Severn Tunnel Junction (as is the case in other similarly sized stations).  This would be useful for Magor and Undy residents. Unfortunately, Mark Hopwood said there were no proposals at present.

Have a great Christmas!

Paul
